Log of Updates

The table below contains a log of updates that have been made over the past several months.  The date indicates the most recent change to the document.  Free items are available for re-download.  Purchased items can be re-obtained by contacting us at team@MasterMathMentor.com.  Whenever you download a solution, you are sure that you have the most updated version.

The AB Calculus Student Manual and its companion AB Calculus Solution Manual have had numerous changes and I strongly recommend that if you haven't downloaded the current version (completed on January 1, 2011), you should do so. The big change is the replacement of an annoying font that makes it hard to distinguish between ff ' and  f ".  Also all answers in the solution version have been boxed making them much easier to read.

Also, as of January 23, 2011, the BC Calculus Student Manual and its companion BC Calculus Solution Manual have also had aesthetic changes. While there is little change in the student manual (other than that annoying font), the solution manual has all answers boxed, making it much easier to read. However, in BC42 Taylor Polynomials, I do a better job in explaining the dreaded Lagrange remainder error. I would recommend that you download that new section from the website. The remainder of the pages are unchanged except for their numbering.  The solution version of course has the Lagrange material and if you had purchased solutions, and you haven't gotten the updates, contact me. I strongly suggest that you download it so you will have the "latest and greatest."

Demystifying AB free response Student & Solutions 1/30/12 Section I Example 77, parts a and b. Inverse functions have always confused students and it is really easy to make an error.  The College Board loves problems like this - taking the derivative of the inverse to a function at a point. I fell into the trap, mostly because of carelessness. Paul Street pointed out the embarrassing error and it has been corrected.  Part b of the question now asks for the derivative of the inverse at x = -1, which was a typo.  So download the student version and if you purchased the solutions, email me and I will send you the link to the corrected version.
