We are working together with the goal
of making these resources available to individuals
who are serious about learning and teaching mathematics.

Stu Schwartz

I am a retired teacher of mathematics, having taught at Wissahickon High School in Ambler, Pa for 35 years.  I taught Advanced Placement Calculus and A.P. Statistics at Wissahickon and continue to teach prospective teachers on preparing for the Mathematics Praxis™ Test for the Philadelphia School District as well as teaching part-time at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, Pa (Multivariable Calculus), and Arcadia University in Glenside, Pa.

I am the recipient of the 2003 Presidential Award for Teaching Excellence, the highest honor that a teacher can receive in the United States. Even in semi-retirement, I still am committed to teaching students, young and old, the beauty and importance of mathematics.

Over the many years of teaching, I have accumulated many exams, worksheets, and projects in many courses. Most of these materials are in electronic form.  It makes little sense to pack these material in boxes, never to see the light of day again. It is my wish that teachers and students have the opportunity to avail themselves to these resources, most of them free of charge, and improve on them.

It is my hope that teachers and students will contact me in order to start a dialogue on the best way to communicate and learn mathematics.

I grew up loving computers and mathematics... come to think of it, I still do.  Among my various projects involving computations and computers, I have developed automated software for grading practice SAT exams, designed a Balanced Scorecard system for corporate management, and become a master at software generated maze designs (available on www.WorldOfMazes.com). My consulting career has included software development for Verizon Wireless, Aventis, IBM, and other Fortune 500 companies. Currently I live with my wife and 4 kids in Lansdale, PA and work as the Director of Quality Management and Information Services at a local nonprofit organization, Delta Community Supports, Inc. (www.deltaweb.orgOne of our organization's most recent accomplishments was becoming award recipients of Pensylvania's KAPE Award for Performance Excellence, based on the National Baldrige Criteria.

I enjoy tackling mathematical challenges and tutoring students. I am thrilled that we have been able to provide this online math resource for others who share our love for the world of mathematics.
